My Story
My Story
Hi, I'm Shanetta.
I'm a mother of five, an ordained minister, and a HUD-certified housing counselor — and I'm a girl from Harlem who learned how to take life's sourest moments and turn them into purpose.
My Aunt Troy took me under her wing and showed me God. My Aunt Jeanette showed me what was possible — she was the first professional woman I really looked up to, and she even took me to St. Maarten and opened my eyes to a bigger world. Between the two of them, I learned that where you start doesn't decide where you finish.
Motherhood changed me. Healing changed me. Writing my memoir, Heaven on Earth, forced me to face the little girl I used to be and become the woman my children needed. Somewhere in that journey, "When Life Gives You Lemons" was born — first as a saying I lived by, then as this brand.
Everything here is personal. The book is my testimony. The candles are the calm I prayed for on hard nights, poured into something you can hold. The shirts carry the message I want my children — and yours — to wear proudly: when life gives you lemons, turn it into purpose.
What life tried to use to break us, we transformed into healing, purpose, and legacy.
Thank you for being here. I'm rooting for you.
